Accumulator total: Summer Hold! The Accumulator,
like the Quizmaster, is now on summer break. Over the period of the summer quizzes, 20
points will be awarded for a score of 10 out of 10 on the Blockbusters Round. That means a score
of 60 in the quiz is theoretically possible. The Accumulator will return with the first quiz of the regular season on 5th
October 2010, when it will be €75 plus 25% of that night's pot. RECENT VICTORY!! After a relatively short 9 week wait, Beezleboss cracked it on 29.06.10, making it three Blockbuster wins for the season. Even more impressive when you consider they were in a Playoff situation and risking the points could have been catastrophic. But it wasn't... this time. They took €451 and for the first time
in ages the Accumuator will stand at €0. But not for long. I promise. Prevoius Winners
Hyper Hyper Heads had their first ever Blockbuster win in May 2010! 30th March 2010: a big win for the Green Monster!! They were
the only team to go for it and (including three self confessed guesses) everything went their way!! €500 to them - the first win for a couple of months and the last since Where Is My Mind? and
Evil Scotsmen split the win a while back. But there's
still plenty to play for...
From rags to riches... The Accumulator is the other way to win something at the Quiz. The total could be anywhere between about €20
and €500, depending on how recently it was last won. It is a rare and celebrated event when a team wins - often the highlight
of a quiz career, as so many times, a team will fall at the last hurdle. Other
recent wins were by Frankie Fitz's Psycho Kids in March 2009
(they got themselves €500) and, before them, Braindust
and Green Monster, back in December 2008. These were actually
separate wins on different nights, Braindust pocketing the full €500 and Green Monster taking €458.
These have been the only wins of the 08/09 season, so you can see it's something a little special (and the money's
not too shabby either). And now we've got another €500 to give away - who will it be next time? Of course, the rounds are available in the old quiz section. Could it have been you? The way of the Accumulator
